How to judge whether the molybdenum disulfide grease has deteriorated?
In daily life, the molybdenum disulfide grease is generally dark black, foaming, and emulsification. Twist it with your fingers, there is no thick feeling, astringency or odor, and it is dark brown on the white test paper, and there is no yellow infiltration area or many black spots. Failure to replace it in a timely manner will accelerate the wear and tear of parts, affect the service life of the engine, and even cause safety accidents. There are several simple methods to identify the quality of molybdenum disulfide grease:
Oil flow survey
Take two measuring cups, one of which contains the molybdenum disulfide grease to be inspected, and the other empty cup on the table. Lift the measuring cup filled with molybdenum disulfide grease away from the table 30 to 40 cm and tilt it. The molybdenum sulfide grease slowly flows into the empty cup, and its activity is investigated. The flow of good quality molybdenum disulfide grease should be slender, uniform and continuous.
Hand twist
Twist molybdenum disulfide grease between thumb and forefinger and grind repeatedly. The better molybdenum disulfide grease has lubricity, less wear debris and no conflicts. If you feel that there is a large conflict between particles between fingers, etc. It means that there are many impurities in the molybdenum disulfide grease and it can no longer be used. It should be replaced with a new molybdenum disulfide grease.
Light method
On a clear day, use a molybdenum disulfide grease inspection rod to lift it at a 450-degree angle to the horizontal. Investigate the oil droplets of molybdenum disulfide grease against the sunlight. Under the light, you can clearly see that there is no abrasive debris in the molybdenum disulfide grease. It is outstanding and sustainable. If there is too much abrasive debris, you should replace with new oil.
Oil Drop Trace Method
Take a clean white filter paper and apply a few drops of molybdenum disulfide grease on the filter paper. After the molybdenum disulfide grease leaks, if there is a black powder on the surface and it feels blocked by hand, it will clarify the disulfide. Molybdenum grease contains a lot of impurities. Good molybdenum disulfide grease has no powder. It is dry and lubricated by hand, and it has yellow marks.
